It just kills me sometimes that I didn't get to know Natty as a puppy. I wonder what she was like? Probably feisty and crazy and sassy like she is now, except on a smaller scale...well, physically smaller, anyway. :) Her puppy 'tude was probably larger than life!
There's so much we don't know about our girl. Where did she come from? Did anyone love her? Did anyone even care when she wandered away (or did they leave her somewhere on her own, to fend for herself?) We find small clues, occasionally, as to what might have come before...but most of our questions will likely never be answered. And that's ok.
Not having Natty as a puppy doesn't make our bond any "less." It just makes it different. I'm so thankful to have had the opportunity to watch her blossom and come out of her shell. I wouldn't have it any other way.
What are you thinking about, special girl? Are you remembering your "somewhere out there?" That's ok, as long as you know that your home is here with us, to stay.

I do the same thing...I wonder what Tuni's life was like before us. Natty is sure loved now!
Same with us with Lola and Skeeter.... Skeeter was about 5-7 and Lola was around 3 when we rescued them... Lola had been hit by a car and dropped in the shelter overnight drop... I can't even imagine! We are just lucky to have found them!

Same here, we wonder what happened to Lincoln before we went and picked him last week...we are still figuring out all his quirks. I can't imagine who would abandon a dog, especially a pug with that adorable face.
very sweet <3 she's one lucky puggy!
Love is what binds us all. If only we could have that one thing from what our human calls it...a...a pen-...a "pensive". We think that is what is called. Where you can relive memories of the past. We saw it in a movie with our human. We tried it out in our bathroom but the water swirls around in our bowl and disappears. So I guess it doesn't work out for all of us pugs.
