Guilt Trip

Has this gurl mastered the googly-eyed guilt trip, or what?

"Please don't go, mama. I shall perish if you leave me."

And yes, that is a pile of my clothing that she is so forlornly resting upon.

Pathetic. ;)

Find the Pug

Granted...it's not that difficult when you're looking for a certain Sunshine Girl. :)

(One of these days I'll stop posting blurry cell phone photos.)

Well...maybe. A blurry pug is better than NO pug, isn't it? :)

Busted. Again.

Can you find the evidence? Clearly Natty is oblivious to the fact that she's giving anything away. :)

What am I going to DO with this trash-can raiding, Kleenex-eating pug? (Besides run and get the camera, of course?) :)

PAWS for Japan

What if you experienced a natural disaster beyond your worst nightmares?

What if you lost your home?

What if you didn't know where your animals were?

Wouldn't you pray for someone to save them?

Humanitarian efforts are so important - and so is animal rescue!

Click here for a link to the WorldVets page and for a secure donation link! All donations will go to aid groups that are already established in Japan.

If you can't donate, spread the word. There's someone out there who can!

Are you in?

Delight

I was reading some puggy blogs this morning, some of which were tributes to pugs we've loved and lost - and it made me reflect on the way these little guys truly have the power to make us FEEL. I realized that one of the absolute best adjectives I can use to describe the way I feel when I am watching them play (so silly!), or watching them sleep (so sweet!), or watching them eat (so happy!) is DELIGHTED. I absolutely delight in their zest for life, in the way the smallest things can be so BIG to them, in the way they never take the simplest of pleasures for granted.

To some people, they may be "just animals" - but they have taught me SO MUCH! They have taught me how to be kind and compassionate. How to be patient (or at the very least, how to ATTEMPT patience). How to nurture. How to sacrifice. How to appreciate a cool patch of grass or a sun-warmed step. How to PLAY! How to be STILL. How to accept a comforting touch, instead of shying away from it. How to giggle uncontrollably, or roll around on the floor unabashedly. How to put someone else's needs first.

I've never been a mother, but I know now that I have the capacity. The experience might not be the same, but I think that the basic elements are. They have taught me LOVE.

It is not spring here yet, but it is just around the corner - and we will DELIGHT in it when it comes. Some photos from last spring:

Who knew a field of clover could be so much FUN! See what I mean? :)

I promise to let go, to allow myself to fully ENJOY this spring with you, and to see it through YOUR eyes.

I promise not to take it for granted, because life is SPECIAL - and life with YOU is especially special!

Thank you for being mine...and for letting me be YOURS.
