Gotcha!

On this day, two years ago - February 22, 2009 - Miss Natalie, Nattyloo, Louie Gurl came into our lives. I just can't imagine life without our Sunshine Girl!

She has brought so much cuddly, happy, hilarious joy into our lives. Happy Gotcha Day, Sweet Pea! We love you SO much.

Delicious...but Not So Nutritious

THESE are what Klaus ate first thing this morning when we were getting out of bed.

THESE are what Klaus puked up at the ER vet where we had to induce vomiting.

Way to go, buddy. Really. Well done.

Sweater Day the Green Stubby Way

Winston is sponsoring a contest to honor both Stubby and his beloved Earth today, so how could we not participate?

But our entry may not exactly count, for a few reasons.

1. It is nearly 60 degrees in Chicago today, so we aren't turning our thermostat down by 3 degrees. No, our thermostat is in fact OFF today! Since we're on the top floor of a newer condo building, our thermostat is typically only set to 65 degrees in the winter anyway. Thank goodness for good insulation! Does this disqualify us, Winston?

2. There's no way on Stubby's green Earth that I'll be able to get Klaus into a sweater. I don't actually own any clothing that really fits him or Natty anymore, because they just won't tolerate it. Plus, it's a little too warm today. So...does that disqualify us, Winston?

Well, just for good measure, I'll throw in this photo of puppy Klaus in a sweater. He had a major 'tude then, too--but he was too small to resist when I tried to wrestle him into clothing, muaahahaha!

Seriously, though...Stubby was an awesome little dude, who was very wise. And he sure made being green look CUTE.

So Stubby, this post is for you. I hope you look down on all of your sweater-wearing friends today and SMILE. (Was that a ray of sunshine that I just saw?)

Thank you for being such an inspiration, in more ways than one.

The Great Blizzaster of 2011

WARNING: There are no pugs in this post. Feel free to move along if you're only in it for the pugs. ;)

Just thought I'd share a sampling of some photos taken during the great Snowpocalypse that we had here in Chicago a few weeks ago. The snow is finally starting to melt today (thank GOD for high 30s!) but the puggies are still finding walks/potty brigade to be a challenge. You could stack them a few pugs high, and the drifts would still be way over their tiny little heads.

In spite of the fact that the entire city was essentially shut down for a day or two, we managed to have a bit of fun with the snow. :)

Renting a garage this year was DEFINITELY a smart move. :) Next post, back to puggies!

Cartoon Pug

Sometimes when I look at Klaus, I just can't believe he's REAL. The bulging, glistening eyes...the tiny button nose...the velvety wrinkles...the little pink peep-tongue (oh god, the tongue!) He's such a little dolly, he's almost cartoonlike. A little stuffed animal, come to life! Whoever envisioned and designed the pug was a genius, for sure. A comic genius, perhaps, but a genius nonetheless. :)
