Consider the Source

Klaus (who is too embarrassed to come to the computer himself) would like to submit for your consideration a few key pieces of evidence in his defense. Please take these into account when making your final determination of his pug studliness.

Exhibit A: Consider the source (that little minx). And is that pink taffeta garment REALLY a tutu? Could it possibly be part of a fierce lion costume that someone's mama was cruel enough to put around a protesting pug boy's trim little waist? (Or is Natty just confused about how to wear it...?)

Exhibit B: Male models wear pink. And Klausie is a very trendy pug. The Aftermath: Pug face-fight commence. CHOMP! (Noooooo, Klausie--NOOOOOOOO!) You're on your own, pug. :)

The Tongue

Oh, sweet boy. That tongue of yours is hanging out more and more these days, especially when you're sleepy. It still kills me every time.

Thank You, Wilma!

We just received our Giveaway Prize in the mail! (Actually, we got it a few days ago, but the Mama has been super sick and just not up to blogging for a few days.) Here's a video of the puggies trying it out. As you can see, the Mama is perhaps not the best at measuring for pug clothes...she was afraid the x-small would be too small for puggy barrel chests, but the small is a bit long. Klausie looks like he's wearing a horse blanket (even though it's not tightened at all)--hee! What's a poor tube-shape puggy to do?
Photobucket
We think it'll do just fine though. Miss Natty was quite excited to receive her prize. Circles, circles all day long... Are you dizzy yet? Thanks again Wilma, Wilma's Mom and CSN!

My Puggy Daddy

The elusive pug Dad, captured wild in his natural environment:

He's not featured often in this blog, other than a brief mention...so I thought I'd take this opportunity to wish him a happy early Pug Dad Day!

Friendship Friday

Today I thought I'd give a shout-out to some of the puggies' new friends in the blog world. Thanks Wilma and Winston for welcoming Klaus and Natty into your clubs! We love reading your blogs (and all of the other puggy blogs out there) and are happy to be making new friends! And to help you get to know us a little better, we'll fill out Pearl's quiz too. :)

THE BASICS

1.) Name and Age:

Klaus: Big 3.5-year-old boy! Born October 28, 2006

Natty: Approximately 3 years old :) Natty was found as a stray, so we're not exactly sure how old she is...but that's our best guess.

2.) Breed: Puggy bears

3.) Nickname(s): Too many to name...but here's a sampling. :)

Klausie: The Bean, Klausimous, Stinky, Sweet boy, Monkey

Natty: Natalie, Nataloo, Louie, Louie-belle, Gurrl

4.) Where'd ya come from?

Klaus: Loved from afar since he was born, we watched him grow in photographs. We drove 5 hours to pick him up from a breeder in Indiana. The best Christmas present I ever received!

Natty: Natty was a rescue from NIPRA. She was found as a stray in the dead of winter in Kankakee. She was in bad shape, and we don't know much about where she came from, but we sure are glad she's with us now! The best little girl we could've ever hoped for.

FAVORITES

1.) Toy:

Klaus: Santa loofa dog

Natty: Stuffed white dog from Ikea

2.) Snack:

Klaus: CHEESE!

Natty: STRAWBERRIES!

3.) Human person:

Klaus: MomMomMommyMommyMommyMOM!

Natty: Daddy! And Mom too!

FUNNY STUFF

1.) Worst habit:

Klaus: Humping Natty (tough guy), barking/whining/growling at Mom to get his way

Natty: Raiding Mom's dirty laundry, eating tissues out of the garbage

2.) Most embarrassing moment:

Klaus: When someone watches him poop

Natty: Gland expression (oh Natty...it's not enjoyable for us, either)

3.) Family dynamic (this is a question for those of you with more than one animal in the house. i.e. who is alpha? who is the cuddler? who is the naughty one? etc. I just want to know how you fit into the family!)

Klausie is the top dog, but only because Natty lets him be. (She's too good-natured to be bothered with a power struggle, but she could kick his butt.) He is a sweet and sensitive little guy, a little bit anxious, and needs his Mom ALL the time! He is my cuddly and licky little man. He's also our little protector, and gets FIERCE when he feels the need. Natty is more independent, though also cuddly and affectionate. She likes to chase birds and believes she is a fierce hunter. She also likes to watch TV, and is quite a talker. She likes to plant herself on your lap, facing you, and give tiny whiskery puggy kisses. These pugs have no concept of personal space; they are the very definition of lap dogs.

4.) Your humans' FAVORITE thing about you!: Oh no, this is too tough. I could write a book...

Klaus: Klausie is my best buddy; he's my shadow and is never far from my side. I can always count on my little dude to make everything better with a kiss or a cuddle. He comforts me and brings me joy every day.

Natty: Natty is so enthusiastic about everything. She is such an eager little girl, such a delight; it's such a joy to share in her excitement. She is becoming a sassy little princess, and it is so much fun to see her personality come out more and more each day.

They both keep me laughing, every single day. :) Never a dull moment when the pugs are around!

The Simple Things

Pugs sure know how to appreciate the simpler things in life, don't they? For all I joke about how spoiled my two little buddies are, they set a perfect example every day of just how good enjoying the small luxuries in life can be: a soft place to sleep, a kind word, a gentle touch, a good meal.Klaus in the yard on a warm day: soft grass, cool shade, his best buddy (ME) by his side. The look on that face is pure bliss. :)

The Point of No Return

Uh, oh. Somebody's Daddy went through the rabbit hole (er, garage) again. Do you think he'll ever come back?Where did he go, Natty?Maybe if you look for him hard enough, you will bring him back sooner. Silly girl.
