Here's puppy Klaus, pre-neuter and nose job (he had his nares widened while under anesthesia...look how tiny his little nostrils were!) Now that's a true "pug" nose.Doesn't he look like a baby gorilla in this photo? My little monkey.
Klausie is a picky eater, and he likes to take his time enjoying his breakfast.Natty, on the other hand, is usually done before Klaus even takes his first bite. And then she waits, not so patiently, for her brother to finish--so she can move in on any crumbs left behind and lick his bowl clean. Can't you just read her little mind? "Hey Klaus...are you gonna eat all that?" Gosh I love that piggy pug!
According to the rescue that we got Natty from, her birthday is today. :) Actually, May 17 is a totally arbitrary date. Natty was found as a stray, so we really have no idea when her birthday is...or even how old she is, really. We did celebrate her "gotcha day" (February 22), but what the heck...maybe we'll celebrate today, too. A girl deserves to have a birthday, doesn't she? Happy approximately 3rd birthday, Natty!!Ok, fine. YES, you may have cake. Piggy.
It's not enough for a pug to be on top of a soft mattress... No, a pug must be on top of the softest surface possible in order to find comfort. If there's a pillow on top of a pillow on top of a mattress...on top of that is where you will find the pug. He will dig, and he will plump, until he gets it just right. And yet he still somehow manages to look dissatisfied, doesn't he? Silly, spoiled pug. :)
And so it begins... A chance encounter on a family vacation spawns a lifelong obsession with all things pug. This is the chronicle of one little girl's fantasy as it becomes her adult reality.
"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."
