Anatomy of a Pug Fight

Words are exchanged.
The first strike.
You ain't never seen moves like this!
You can run, but you can't hide!
Advantage him!
...Or was it her?
Better put that camera away now, Mom. Things are about to get pugly!

Yes, Children...

there IS a monster hiding under the bed.
Wait, no...that's just a pouty pug. False alarm.
But I'd watch your ankles anyway. Just in case.

Two Pugs on a Perch

The pugs have a new spot from which to observe the goings-on in our new neighborhood. We moved from a ground-level single family home to a third-floor condo, so their perspective has changed quite a bit! There are pros and cons to this move, of course. I miss lounging in the yard with my little guys, but I think the thrice daily walks and three flights of stairs each way are doing us all more good than we'd care to admit. Natty's harness is already fitting a bit more loosely (thank goodness...we couldn't have squeezed a single ounce more of Natty pudge into it!) and they've always loved walks--the yard just allowed us to be lazy. (Oh! To be lazy again!) Anyway, this is their new chill spot on the back of the couch. It allows them to see directly into the yard across the alley, where a boisterous fox terrier tends to be yap-yap-yapping away at anyone in his vicinity and attempting to bound over the fence (he comes quite close). The pugs love these window shades, which allow them to see out even when they are closed. The mama doesn't love them quite as much, since there's no possible way to block the pugs' view of the noisy fox terrier when they want to bark or woo woo at him--which is pretty much always.

Best buds. (Cell phone photos--please excuse the blur!)
So intent. (Klaus, as usual, is just a shadow. I need tips on photographing a black pug, people!)
Does that guy ever shut up, Mom? Good grief. Someone is going to have to inform our noisy new neighbor that this is the pugs' hood now. Have a good day, everyone!

Moving is hard work!

And the pugs did most of the heavy lifting, as you can see by their exhaustion.
Natty's new spot on the windowsill. Time for your closeup, Natty!Would Klausie ever lower himself to sit anywhere BUT on a pillow? I think not.
Nice butt shot, Bean! And thanks for the effort. You guys really carried your weight. (Oh, no, that was me. I carried your weight). ;) Oh well. Here's to many happy times to come in our new place! After all, home is where your pugs are, right? :)

MIA

Hi all! The pugs have been nagging me to apologize for not supplying you with images of their extreme cuteness all week. We just moved into a new place on Wednesday and have been spending this time unpacking and getting adjusted to a whole new routine that includes lots of walks and stairs (say goodbye to that extra chub, Natty!) I did remember to unpack the pugs, but haven't gotten around to uploading any photos of them in their new digs just yet. I promise they will come soon. For now, Natty wants me to give a shout-out to her sunflower sistas Sequoia and Tuni and let them know that she DID NOT forget that it was their tribute week, and feels their pain in adjusting to a new home. It can all be a bit unsettling, can't it? (For pug moms AND pugs.) We'll give you all a visual update soon! :)

Happy 4th of July!

The pugs have a bit of advice for their buddies to ensure everypuggy has a fantastic 4th of July celebration! First, remember to stay cool.Natty's got the idea! Then, make sure to get LOTS of belly rubs.Thank you for that lovely demonstration, Klausie. Next, remember that it's ok to stay in bed and hide if you don't like the sound of fireworks. People will most likely feel really bad for you, in which case you will get...you guessed it...MORE belly rubs!Finally...and this is one that every pug must perfect and NEVER forget: No matter where you are, or what it takes you to get there, get a good angle on the food!Hope everyone has a great holiday!

Heavenly

Is there anything better to a pug than some good scratches? Especially when said pug is all warm and sleepy and just waking up? I wish someone would bring me out of my dreams like that.
